Escondido is located just north of San Diego in Southern California. The word Escondido, which means “hidden” in Spanish, is accurate since the city itself is nestled in a long valley surrounded by the coastal mountains. The city lies about 100 miles south of Los Angeles and roughly 30 miles northeast of San Diego. Escondido is a beautiful, vibrant community surrounded by citrus and avocado groves.
